The world beyond ours and the stars hold mystery and beautiful beyond words. There will be five sky events in 2017 that you will not want to miss! Be sure to mark your calendars to catch a glimpse of magic this year!
On March 29th, 2017 after sunset the moon, Mars, and Mercury will be visible in the sky. This awesome event will actually cause a celestial triangle to be formed from the moon, Mars, and Mercury.
On April 10th, 2017 the moon will meet Jupiter in the night sky. On this date, the moon and Jupiter will rise at the same time after the sun sets.
On August 21st, 2017 there will be a total Solar Eclipse, visible to those who live in North America. This type of event has not occurred since the year 1979. The event will not take place again until 2024.
On November 13th, 2017 at dawn Venus and Jupiter will meet in the skies, and they will appear to almost be touching. Be sure to grab binoculars or a telescope for this event.
On December 13th, 2017 the Geminid Meteor Shower will reach its peak and it will be highly visibly at this time. There is said to be an estimate of 60 to 120 meteors falling per hour at this peak time. For the best visibility look to the sky in the predawn hours of December 14th, 2017.
